TS3 - The landlady by Roald DAHL

Today, we first read a small biography of the famous author Roald DAHL.

We discovered that though he wrote a lot of books for children
such as Matilda or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,
he also wrote macabre short stories in which "the characters seem to be perfectly normal at first sight but actually have a darker side".
I then read you the first part of the short story entitled The Landlady.

You then had to look for information about:
- the place,
- the time,
- the characters.
I then gave you a worksheet to complete.

HW: Lesson to learn + finish the worksheet
+ look for information about the city of Bath.

2de3 - Fantasy novels "exposés" (end)

Today, you first had a small vocabulary test.
We then heard the last exposés on Fantasy novels.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Silmarillion and The Hobbit.

1èS3 - Work on a song

Today, I gave you back your press projects and we put them up in the classroom.
We then worked on a song.
I first made you hear the very beginning of the song, only the music,
and you had to guess what kind of story the song will be about.
You can listen to it again by clicking below

We then listened to the beginning of the song and
you had to look for some information: Who ? Where ? What ?
We then took some notes.
HW: Lesson to learn.

TLV2 - Romeo and Juliet: the balcony scene study
