TES2 - Today's class

Today, I gave you a work to do:
for next thursday, you have to make exposés on committed singers.
We finished the study of the song Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday.
We then compared the photo to the poem and saw that there was a strong similarity between the two: the strong contrast between the "Gallant South" and the "Strange Fruit" of the poem is also present in the photo, in the difference between the bottom and the top of the photo: the people seem to enjoy a party whereas two black bodies are hanging on a tree. This contrast clearly shows the horror of the scene.
HW: Lesson to learn and read p.166-167 in your text book.
